MultiTerm files

The following files and file types are used or created by MultiTerm. These files must not be edited, moved, renamed or deleted.

This file is used by MultiTerm when you create a new termbase.

When you create a local termbase, the following files are created. They are all part of the termbase.

SDLTB

This is the termbase file and bears the termbase name. You can double click this to open the termbase in MultiTerm. You can also open MultiTerm by double-clicking this file.

MDF, MTF

These files are created for every language in the termbase.

LDB

This is a termbase record locking file. This is used by MultiTerm to manage access to termbase records.

Do not delete or edit any file that forms part of a termbase. The termbase may become corrupted and you will not be able to open the termbase.

CSV, LOG

These are log files and statistical data files which contain information about the termbase processes you have performed (for example, termbase imports and exports).

MTF XML

You can only import term data into MultiTerm if the data is stored in a file of this type. To convert data to this format, use MultiTerm Convert.

OUT

This is the output file which contains terms which were filtered out of a file import.

SDLPROFILE

When you create a user profile by saving your termbase selections and MultiTerm settings to a file, the file is given this extension.

XCD

This is the MultiTerm Convert session settings file. You can select this file when you are performing another conversion session and the same settings will be used.

XCL

This is the exclusion file, created during a file import. Termbase entries that fail the validation checks are added to the exclusion file.

XDF

If you export a filter definition to a file, this will be the extension of the file.

XDI

If you export an import definition to a file, this will be the extension of the file.

XDL

If you export a layout definition to a file, this will be the extension of the file.

XDM

If you export an input model definition to a file, this will be the extension of the file.

XDT

If you export a termbase definition to a file, this will be the extension of the file.

XDX

If you export an export definition to a file, this will be the extension of the file.

XML

These are the settings and other configuration files.

This dictates the look and feel of the Rich Hitlist.
