Termbase entries
MultiTerm is a concept-oriented system which means that each termbase entry corresponds to a single concept.
A single termbase entry contains all the terms that describe a concept, as well as any additional information associated with that concept. For each concept, you can specify terms in multiple languages.
If you use MultiTerm as a knowledge base system, you may want to use the language fields to categorize information primarily according to subject rather than language.
Termbase entry structure
A termbase entry typically contains:
- A number that is unique in the termbase
- At least one term and other possible synonyms
- A definition of the item that is referenced using the term or terms in the entry. The description may also contain other supporting information such as an image file or a link to a web page.
- Other language versions of terms
- Server-based termbase entries contain an entry class field. Entry classes are used to control user access to server-based termbases.
