Locating objects returned by a repository search

If your search action in the repository results in a list of found objects, you can locate those objects in the repository.

Before you begin

You must have executed a repository search that returned one or more search results.

Procedure

  1. If you performed your search in a Search pane, right-click the object you want to locate in the Search results pane and do one of the following:
    • To locate the object in the Publication, select Locate in publication. If the object indeed exists in this Publication, then, in the Publication tree, (the first instance of) the selected object is highlighted. If it does not exist in this Publication, a popup informs you of this fact.
    • To locate the object in the repository, select Locate in the repository. This opens a Browse repository dialog to the Repository tab, highlighting the folder containing the selected object in the repository folder tree on the left, and the selected object itself on the right.
  2. Alternatively, if you performed a search from a Browse repository dialog, select the object whose repository location you want to know, right-click it and do one of the following:
    • Select Locate in the repository. Your Browse repository dialog switches from its Search tab to its Repository tab.
    • Alternatively, select Locate in the repository while holding your Ctrl or Shift key pressed. This causes a new instance of the Browse repository dialog to open to the Repository tab.
In the Repository tab, the folder containing the selected object in the repository folder tree is highlighted on the left, and the selected object itself is highlighted on the right.
