Configuring personalized content (Identities)

Personalized content refers to aspects of a Web site that are personalized for a specific user. To capture personalized content, you need to perform additional configuration. In the Archive Manager, you need to define identities to capture the profiled pages, authentication credentials, and HTTP request header information.

Profiled pages
Web sites often present different views of data depending on the profile of the user viewing the content. Tridion Personalization and Profiling allows you to define and implement these profiles; the Archive Manager requires that you define an identity to match each profile
Authentication credentials
If your Web site requires authentication, you need to specify a username and password for authentication
HTTP request header information
A Web server can serve different pages to a user depending on the browser the user is using. The Archive Manager allows you to configure archiving to take into account differentiating responses depending on information contained in HTTP request headers.
