Installing Archive Manager overview

Archive Manager requires that you have a fully-functional SDL Tridion environment (Content Manager and Content Delivery systems) installed and configured. Installing Archive Manager involves installing and configuring a number of software components.

Archive Manager Modules
These Content Deployer Modules triggers the archiving process when a piece of content is published or unpublished by Content Deployer.
Archiver
This component is responsible for archiving content that is published from the Content Manager. You install the Archiver as a Server Role, either on the same machine as Content Deployer or on a separate machine.
Archive Manager Web Service
This Web service exposes data stored in the Archiver database to the Archive Manager Explorer. You install the Archive Manager Web Service if your Archive Manager Explorer cannot access the database directly.
Archiver Database
The Archive Manager stores archived Web site content in a Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle database. You create the Archiver database using the scripts provided.
Archive Manager Explorer
This ASP.NET Web application allows you to browse and search through the database where your Web site content is archived. You install Archive Manager Explorer on your Content Manager Server.
