Configuring AppData for the FrameMaker Checkin Tool
Procedure
- In Contenta Explorer, click Tools > Options.
- Click on the Tools Preferences tab.
- Open the Global folder (in the left pane of the window).
- Click Insert Key.
In the resulting Enter Key Name window, enter the Name: FmBook
- Click on the new FmBook key, and then click the Insert Value button.
- Insert the values for tif, fm, eps, and book:
Value Name Value Data tif TIFF fm FmDoc eps EPS book FmBook - To configure AppData to handle embedded object links (such as visio diagrams) add the Value Name Embedded_Objects as noted below
Value Name Value Data Embedded_Objects The filename extension—for example, for visio diagrams add the value:
vsd
Multiple extensions can be added using the underbar character between the data entries (filename extensions)—for example:
vsd_pqr
Note: No AppData configuration is required if the object is not an embedded link but instead is merged into the document. The objects that can be linked or merged are many, including: Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint. Whether the embedded object is merged or linked into the document is determined by what you do when the FrameMaker panel below is displayed after you select File > Import > Object.If you check Link, a link to the file is entered into the document and the linked file must be copied to the Graphics directory for import into a new Contenta object. If Link is not checked, the data is merged into the document.
