Editing Data

If you add an object-mapped element to your document, when the data is imported into the database Contenta creates a new object based on the map file configuration (which is stored in Contenta AppData in DIMAP) and imports the new data into it.

The object appears in the Contenta hierarchy in a location that corresponds to where it was added in the document.

You can display the elements that are object-mapped by right-clicking in various locations in the document—see The Editor Context Menu for information about this option.

When working in the Arbortext Editor, the data within objects are visibly defined by start and end arrows. Note that the arrows may be nested depending on the hierarchy. The object delimiters are:

denotes the beginning of data in an object

denotes the end of data in an object

Example:

Select and move the cursor slightly to the right on a beginning arrow and the object (all data in the object) is highlighted.
