Editor Check Out

Use Editor Check Out to place a lock on an object and export the data into the editor application for modifications. You can maintain the lock on a long-term basis if you want to continue modifying the data outside the database.

When done modifying, store the object back in the database with the Editor Check In option. Contenta removes the long-term lock on the object when it is checked in to the database.
  • When an object is checked out, the object and children are exported and saved in a /checkout/editor directory under the directory where Contenta is installed.
  • When checking out a container object, the contents of the container are stored as individual files in the checkout directory.
  • The Editor Check Out option exports the data into the editor for editing.
  • A long-term lock is placed on the object in Contenta. To remove the long-term lock, use the Editor Check In option.
  • When you finish editing and save the file, it is saved to the /checkout/editor directory. To save the file in the Contenta database and remove the long-term lock on the object, use the Editor Check In option
