History

You can view or restore a previous version of an object using the Contenta history feature.

Contenta history allows you to do the following.
  • view the revision history of a selected object
  • view the contents of a previous revision of an object
  • restore historical versions of an object
  • restore historical versions of a container along with its children
  • use the contents of a previous revision in another ContentRoutingProject, standard Project or configuration

Contenta history does not allow you to do the following.

  • modify previous revisions and place them back at the previous revision level.

Although you can use the contents of a historical object in your current work, you cannot change the historical version of the object.

  • copy a previous revision of an entire library, desktop, configuration, ContentRoutingProject or standard Project to another location in the Contenta data structure

History allows you to copy objects within these structures but does not allow you to copy the structures themselves as single units.

  • copy a previous revision of an object into a location in the Contenta data structure that already contains a newer revision of the object

See the Contenta Administration User topics for information about object properties.
