Object Types
Each Contenta Object Type is identified by a Class Type on which the object type is based.
The Class Type defines general characteristics of the Object. Every Contenta Object belongs to one of the following Class Type categories:
- Controlling Container
- Non-controlling Container
- Compound Objects
- Standard Data Objects
- Hybrid Objects
- Utility Objects
Class Types can be used as Object Templates to create new, custom objects. You can use an existing, delivered Object’s Property Sheet and tools as a starting point for the new object during the creation process. See Creating an Object Type for the procedure to create new, custom objects.
The following illustration shows the object Class Types (classification), data type (format), and the delivered Contenta Objects (type) for each Class Type.
