Scan for New Objects
The editor tools can find new object-mapped elements using the process, scanning for new objects.
This process is automatically triggered by a document Save or can be initiated by the user by selecting the Scan for New Objects option.
If you have inserted new object-mapped elements then select this option:
- The Arbortext tool uses the mapping information in the
DIMAP(AppData) value to split the data and create the objects. - If the Prompt For New Object Naming option is on (see Prompt for New Object Naming), a Contenta Object Name Verification dialog box is displayed which prompts for acceptance of the default name (defined in the
DIMAPvalue for the Document Type) or for you to name the new object. - Click OK to close this window and name the object.
- If the Prompt For New Object Naming is turned off, the object is named using the Naming field information (stored in the
DIMAPvalue for the Document Type).
New objects are created according to the information in the DIMAP value for the Document Type.
You must initiate scanning for new objects before attempting to delete or move newly inserted object-mapped elements. Failure to scan results in a display of unexpected element names in the Context menu.
