Tasks and workflow

The Workflow defines the order of the tasks required to complete the work in the Project and the users responsible for completing each tasks.

When the Project Manager creates a Project, he or she establishes the project workflow by identifying the following:
  • Project team members—users who are assigned to work on the data in the Project
  • Team members’ roles
  • Sequence in which the team members are to perform their tasks

Team members perform tasks in sequence. After completing a task, the user forwards the Project to the next user and task in the workflow. Forwarding a Project to a user transfers ownership of the Project. The user receiving the Project then performs the tasks assigned to him/her in the workflow then forwards it to the next user. This continues until all tasks in the workflow are complete.

When all tasks are complete and the revisions are approved, the project manager posts the revised data to the configuration The configuration is a hierarchy of Contenta objects that contains all data in your database and your manuals. Posting is the means that lets you update your manuals with revised data and ensures that the data is consistent and current in all manuals in which it appears.

Click on the Project object then click the Workflow tab in the Information Display Area to view the Project's workflow.
