This task describes how to import files into Contenta with a custom .dim file using the Dynamic Import tool.
Before you begin
Tip: Consult the SDL Contenta Dynamic Import User section of the Contenta documentation for detailed information on using Dynamic Import.
Procedure
- In the Actions column, next to the object into which you want to import the files, click the wrench icon.
New objects containing the data in the imported files will be created under this object.
- Click Dynamic Import.
If your network administrator has allowed use of applets, you are prompted whether you want to accept the applet. If you click No, you are limited to importing one file at a time. We strongly recommend that you click Yes.
A Dynamic Import window appears.
- Click Advanced.
- In the resulting window, click File-Mapped.
- Click Next.
- Click the browse (ellipsis ...) button to locate and select the directory containing the files and, optionally, the directories to import.
- Choose the custom dim file to use for the import from the drop-down list.
- Click Import.
- When complete, click Exit.
Important: If you get The file transfer failed. No files found on server to import message when importing large amounts of data, you must increase the size of the Java memory on the web server.
