This task explains how to import a structured document into a hierarchy of Contenta objects using the Dynamic Import tool.
Before you begin
Tip: Consult the SDL Contenta Dynamic Import User section of the Contenta documentation for detailed information on using Dynamic Import.
Procedure
- In either the tree or the list view, right-click on a container, hybrid, or compound object, click more, and then click Dynamic Import.
- From the Dynamic Import window, click Advanced.
- Click Tag-Mapped.
- Click Next.
- Browse to select the directory containing the file to import.
- In the Select map file field, click a file from the drop-down list.
- Click Import.
When the import is complete, an import status message with the date and time appears in the
Dynamic Import window. The date and time reported in the status message is the date and time from the Contenta web server. This is notable if your web server is in a time zone different from your time zone.
Note: If the import fails, click one of the two log files from the drop down list and click display to view the error messages. The first log file describes the data splitting process, the second describes the object creation and import.
- Click Exit.
