Adding PUBID, DATATYPE, and XMLDECL

Procedure

  1. In Contenta Explorer, open AppData by selecting:
    Tools > Options > Tool Preferences.
  2. The left pane of the Tool Preferences window contains the names of all desktops in the database.

    Select when adding AppData that is to be used/configured for all users; values are shared and only need to be defined once for all users.

    The values for Document Types are stored under the Global desktop.

    Global is the top-level desktop for all Contenta objects including sysadmin; it is not displayed in Contenta Explorer Or Contenta Web.

  3. Open (click the minus sign) then select (click on) the Global desktop in the left pane of the Tool Preferences window.

    If the Document Types key already exists with a key that matches your data in the Document Type property sheet field, skip Step 4; go to Step 5.

  4. Click Insert Key to add a key for Document Types.

    An Enter Keyname dialog box appears.

    Enter the keyname Document Types, and then click OK.

  5. Click on (select) the new Document Types key.

    If a key under Document Types already exists that matches the data in your objects’ Document Type property sheet field, skip Step 6; go to Step 7.

  6. Click Insert Key and enter the data in the Document Types sheet field of your objects. Click OK when done to add the key.property key.
  7. Click on (select) the key under Document Types that matches the data in the objects’ property sheet field.
  8. Click the Insert Value.
    An Edit Value window is displayed.
  9. In the Value Name field enter PUBID.

    In the Value Data field, enter the PUBLIC identifier for the selected document type. Note that this must be a PUBID identifier, it cannot be a SYSTEM identifier.

  10. Click OK when done defining the Value Name and Value Data.

    The PUBID value is added to the right pane of the Tool Preferences window and is seen when the document type is selected.

  11. If your document is SGML, follow the steps to add the value for DATATYPE:
    • Click on the document type to add the DATATYPE value then click Insert Value.

    • Enter DATATYPE in the Value Name field and sgml in the Value Data field.
    • Click OK.
    The DATATYPE value is added to the right pane of the Tool Preferences window and can be seen if you select the document type.

    After your documents have been imported and your AppData is defined, you can use the editing tools.
