Configuring for email notification with project forwarding

To allow users to take advantage of the email notification feature, which provides users the ability to send email when they forward a project, edit the User Info property sheet on the user’s desktop object. Add the Contenta user’s email address in the Email field.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Contenta Explorer as sysadmin.
  2. Right-click on the user’s desktop, and then click Properties.
  3. In the resulting desktop property sheet, click in the User Info field.
  4. Enter the user’s email address in the Email field.
  5. Do this for each user you want to receive email notification that a project has been forwarded.
  6. Edit the registry on the Contenta Web server.
    1. Click: Start > Run.
    2. In the resulting Run window, enter regedit in the Open field.
    3. Click OK.
    4. Open the folders:
      HKey_Local_Machine >
      Software > XyEnterprise > Content@ > Web > Settings.
    5. In the right pane of the regedit window, locate and double-click on the value,
      cw_smtpAddress
    6. In the resulting Edit String window, enter the name of your SMTP mail server in the Value Data field, and then click OK.
  7. Verify that the Contenta Web has network access to the email server; this is the SMTP server and address entered during the Contenta Web installation.
