Contenta Administrator

This section contains information to assist the Contenta Administrator in his/her role and duties.

The Contenta System Administrator uses the Contenta Administration Tool, Contenta Explorer, and command utilities to configure and maintain Contenta.

The Contenta Administration Tool (pcmadmin) allows you to customize the Contenta database schema to meet your needs. You use this tool to create and modify the relations and object definitions within the database. The Contenta Administration Tool ensures that all changes comply with the requirements of Contenta.

Contenta Explorer allows you to view, create and/or modify data within the Contenta database. Using the structures defined for your database, you can add new users, create workflow templates, and build a hierarchy of objects. Refer to the Contenta Explorer User’s Guide for more information. You can also add or modify the AppData used by the Contenta tools through the Contenta Explorer application.

Command utilities are used for managing and maintaining the Contenta database. They are executed from the operating system command line. You must execute command utilities on your database server. You can execute the command utilities on your local Windows system if you installed the Contenta Administration software on your system.
