Defining Property Sheet Fields
Each Contenta Object has an associated Property Sheet that contains the Object's Properties.
- Determine the Contenta Objects you need to modify—such as CompoundDoc, DataModule, Project.
- Define the types of data you want to track—for example, product line information.
- Plan how the Properties stored in the Property Sheet are to be entered and maintained—for example, entered by users or extracted from data or defined as a default value.
When creating a Property Sheet, the following fields are required:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Field Name | Enter the name you want displayed in the Property Sheet for the field. See Field Name for information about this field. |
| Field Type | From the drop-down list, click to select a field type. See Field Name for information about this field. |
| Is Field Displayable? | Enter or select: Yes if you want the field to be visible in the Property Sheet. No if you want the field display to be suppressed (not displayed in the Property Sheet). See Is Field Displayable? for information about this field. |
| Is Field Modifiable? | Enter or select: Yes if you want users to be able to modify or add data in the field. No if you do not want users modifying the data in the field. See Is Field Displayable? for information about this field. |
All characters, except for the pipe character (|), are allowed for select string values or text strings. This includes alpha-numeric and punctuation characters. For example:
