Forwarding the objects in a ContentRoutingProject

The ContentRoutingProject creator must forward objects in the ContentRoutingProject to their first task in the workflow.

The Routing Task displayed in the Active Task field defines what tasks are available in the Forward to field when the Forward tool is launched. The Routing Task also determines what objects will be forwarded. Only objects with the same Routing Task as the task displayed in the Active Task field are eligible for forwarding. The task displayed in the Active Task Field must match the Routing Task of the objects you want to forward.

To forward objects in a ContentRoutingProject, perform the following steps.
  1. Highlight one or more of the objects in the ContentRoutingProject and click Projects > Forward. The Forward window appears. The Forward to field displays the next (default) task in the Workflow. If there is more than one task to which you can forward the objects, select an alternate task by clicking the down arrow to the right of the Forward to field to display and select the desired task.
  2. In the User field, select the user from the list who is to receive the ContentRoutingProject’s child objects when they are forwarded. If there is only one user assigned to the task, there is no user list.

A linked copy of the ContentRoutingProject is placed on the selected user’s desktop. The user will be assigned as Routing User only for the child objects forwarded to him or her. All objects will be marked as read-only. The initial ContentRoutingProject remains in the hierarchy where it was created. The ProjMan or sysadmin can access the initital ContentRoutingProject at any time to track the progress of its child objects.
