Installing the Service Pack on Contenta Explorer and Contenta Web Windows clients

Follow these instructions to install the Contenta service pack on a Contenta Explorer or Contenta Web client running Microsoft Windows.

About this task

You can run the installation program in either interactive or silent mode.

Errors and messages are written to the log file in the Contenta_home\logs folder (where Contenta_home is the folder where you installed SDL Contenta).

Procedure

  1. Log on to the client as the Administrator user or a user with administrator privileges.
  2. Back up the existing SDL Contenta installation.
  3. Mount the installation ISO file.
To mount an ISO file, you can use Windows to extract the ISO to the file system or use a third‐party tool to mount the ISO as a disk.
  4. Run the installation program using one of these methods:
    • For interactive mode, double-click the install.exe application in the Windows folder.

      A pre-installer screen appears.

    • For silent mode, open a command prompt and enter this command:
      install.exe -i silent
  5. If you are running the installation program in interactive mode, complete the installation screens.

What to do next

Rebooting the computer after installing the service pack is recommended. If you choose to reboot the computer later, be sure to restart the portal process (PcmPortal).
