Notes about installing a Contenta service pack
Before you begin the installation of a Contenta service pack, consider these issues.
- Read the Release Notes and Platform Requirements
Before you start installing the product, read the following documents to check for additional installation issues or requirements. - SDL Contenta software prerequisites
The appropriate Contenta base version must be installed on your computer before you can install an associated service pack. For example, before install the Contenta 5.7.1 service pack, Contenta 5.7 must be installed. - Installation modes
SDL recommends that you run the installation program in interactive mode for each server and client computer. If that is not possible, follow the instructions for performing a silent installation provided for each type of computer. - Installation process log files
Log files for this service pack installation are written to the logs directory or folder under Contenta_home (where Contenta_home is the directory or folder in which you have installed SDL Contenta. - Temporary files created during the installation process
The installation process creates temporary files to the standard operating system-specified temporary directory during installation.
