Object history

This topic introduces you to how to review and manage an object's history.

An object's history contains the object's creation date, if and when the object was moved, copied or linked, and other actions taken on the object. You can review an object's History in the details view when the Repository view is active. All users have access to History; however, depending on permissions, access may be read-only.

History contains the following information:

Column NameDescription
StateUsed in conjunction with the following command links:
  • View to view the checkpoint version in history.
  • Delete to delete the checkpoint.
  • Restore to revert current to the selected checkpoint in history; restores the checkpoint version as the current version.
ActivityThe action that was taken.
Checkpoint IDContenta-generated checkpoint number. Used by Contenta to identify the checkpoint.
Performed byThe username of the person who initiated the Activity.
WhenThe date that the Activity was performed.
NameName of the checkpoint. Contains data if the checkpoint was user-generated.
CommentsUsed primarily for Checkpoint activity. Comments are system-generated, or added by the user when a checkpoint is made manually.
