Project manager
The project manager is the person responsible for creating projects that contain data that needs to be authored, revised, reviewed, or approved.
There is a special desktop and role for the project manager called ProjMan. The ProjMan’s desktop name is user-defined.
The permissions for the ProjMan allow him or her to:
- create a ContentRoutingProject or standard Project, and populate it with data that needs authoring or revision
- create or modify a workflow template
- decide on the tasks necessary to complete the project and assign the appropriate workflow template to the project
- can modify the project's workflow when necessary
- assign users, based on their role, to the tasks in the workflow
- forward a project to any next task in the workflow
- access all tasks in a workflow, anytime
- check on the progress of the project and work
- update the database with the revised data in the project
The system administrator (sysadmin) must give the project manager (ProjMan) access to data and objects, and the tools needed to accomplish his or her task. For example, the sysadmin places a Configuration on a ProjMan’s desktop so that the ProjMan can populate projects with the objects that need revision.
