Required Editor Configuration

The following editor configuration is required for the editors to work with Contenta.

Arbortext Editor: If you have generated a Document Type Configuration file (.dcf) file using Arbortext’s Document Architect utility for a document type that is used with documents edited by the Contenta Arbortext Editor Tool, allowTouchup must be set to yes in the .dcf file.

If the user runs Contenta Arbortext Editor on data that uses a doctype with a .dcf file that has allowTouchup set to no, an error message will be displayed and the document will be set to read only.

You do not need Document Architect to edit an existing .dcf file, but you do need it to create a new .dcf file. See Arbortext Help for more information about DCF files.

XMetaL: Install XMetaL under the Program Files directory. Otherwise, XMetaL won’t launch until you manually register it as follows:

cd XMetaL_home\Author

xmetalnn.exe/regserver (where nn is the version, e.g., xmetal80.exe)

XMetaL: Open XMetaL, select Tools > Options, and uncheck Restore last open documents. If this option is checked, XMetaL will crash when you check out a document from Contenta.
