- The restored version of an object which had been deleted appears as Undo in the container object’s history.
- You cannot restore a checkpointed version of an object if the object is in historical view. If you are in historical view, you must go back to Latest before restoring.
- The restored version of a checkpoint appears as Undo in the object’s history.
When restoring a container and its children, the entire tree is locked before the restore operation is allowed. Note the following about locks and locking.- Owner locks (owned by the current user) are preserved and do not affect the restore operation.
- Edit, checkout, locks held by other users, and project locks prevent the restore.
- Only one path is reported for each object that is locked. The reported object path is the one that is found in the following order.
- the one on the user’s desktop
- the one on the sysadmin’s desktop
- the first one found
Note: If there are paths to other configurations, the path to the current configuration is reported. - If there is a deleted object that is locked and the user tries to restore it, the object ID is reported, and not the path to the object.
Note: When you delete entries from a list in an object’s property sheet, the entries are deleted in historical versions also. Therefore, the deleted entries cannot be restored if you restore a prior version of an object.
