The Desktop Inbox

After creating users’ desktops you can add an Inbox object under the desktop. If a user has an Inbox under his or her desktop, all projects forwarded to the user are placed under the Inbox object.

Troubleshooting Desktop Inbox

If the user removes (deletes) his or her Inbox when it contains a project in it, the user no longer has access to the project. In this case, the user cannot forward the project so the project can no longer be forwarded through the workflow. To restore the project to the workflow follow one set of steps as follows.

Creating a New Inbox and Forwarding the standard Project or ContentRoutingProject to the New Inbox

  1. As the sysadmin user in Contenta Explorer, click on the user’s desktop and create a new Inbox.
  2. Select the standard Project or ContentRoutingProject that was in the user’s Inbox when it was deleted, and then click Project > Forward.
  3. Click in the check box next to List all possible Tasks.
  4. Select the task to Forward To and the User to whom you want to forward the project.
  5. Click Apply; the project is forwarded and in the workflow once again.
  6. Do this for all standard Projects or ContentRoutingProjects that were in the user’s Inbox when it was deleted.

Restoring the Inbox and Forwarding the standard Project or ContentRoutingProject to the Restored Inbox

Follow these steps if you want to maintain the history of the Inbox.

  1. As the sysadmin user in Contenta Explorer, click on the user’s desktop then click the History tab.
  2. Select the checkpoint right before the Delete checkpoint created when the Inbox was deleted.
  3. Click Restore.
  4. Click the Inbox that was restored.
  5. Click the History tab (for the restored Inbox).
  6. Click the checkpoint right before the Delete checkpoint.
  7. Click View (the Restore button is not available)
  8. Click the standard Project or ContentRoutingProject object (that was in the Inbox when it was deleted)
  9. Click: Project > Forward.
  10. Click in the check box next to List all possible Tasks.
  11. Click the task to Forward To and the User to whom you want to forward the project.
  12. Click Apply and the project is forwarded and in the workflow once again.

You should now have, in the Latest (current) view, the restored (original) Inbox and the Project that was in it. Do this for all Projects that were in the user’s Inbox when it was deleted.
