The fileregedit Functions for Registry Files

The command line options delete ,list, rename, and update are used for working with registry files.

The command line syntax is:

[-f <path/file>] <function> <args>
  • Command line processing of fileregedit is not case sensitive.
  • Data being saved in a string value is case sensitive; that is, the data is stored exactly as entered.
  • If an argument contains spaces, it must be enclosed in quotes.

All registry file keys and values are stored with user, location, name, class, and type information. The table that follows describes the arguments used to specify the user of a set of keys and values.
