Working with columns in list view

List view displays objects and children of container objects, each on its own row. You can specify column order, column visibility, column width, and object order within a column.

About this task

The list view lets you:
  • page through a list of objects
  • change the order of columns
  • show or hide a column
  • sort objects within a column
  • restore sorted objects in a column to the build order
  • resize the width of a column
  • specify how to display object rows across multiple pages
Contenta contains the following columns, and their default visibility state:
  • Actions—Visible
  • Name—Visible
  • Type—Visible
  • Status—Visible
  • ObjId —Visible
  • IdPath—Hidden
  • Name Path—Hidden
  • Current —Visible
  • Class—Hidden
  • Edit Lock—Hidden
  • Owner Lock—Hidden
  • Project Lock—Hidden
  • Has Notes—Hidden
  • Is Container —Hidden
  • Lock Session Id—Hidden
  • Lock Type—Hidden
  • Object Type—Hidden
  • Object Type—Hidden
  • Configuration Id—Hidden
  • Desktop—Hidden

S1000D-specific columns (all visible) include the following: Document Type, Technical Name, Information Name, Information Code, System Difference Code, Publication Module Title, SCORM Content Package Title, and Alternate Name.

Procedure

  1. To navigate among objects displayed in multiple pages.
    Page controls let you navigate among pages of objects. From left to right, these buttons include the following: First, Previous, Next, and Last.
  2. To rearrange the column order, grab the column label, and then drag left or right to reposition the column.
  3. To hide a column:
    1. Right-click on any column label.
    2. Adjacent to the column that you want to hide, uncheck the check box.
  4. To sort objects within a column:
    1. Click on a column label.
      A triangle appears in the column label.
    2. To sort in ascending order, click the triangle so it points upward.
    3. To sort in descending order, click the triangle so it points downward.
    4. To revert to the build order of a sorted column, click the pyramid.
  5. To resize the width of a column, grab the gripper that separates columns, and then drag.
