CIR warnings, cautions, and applicability can be configured to be resolved before data is sent to the SDL LiveContent S1000D publishing engine.
About this task
A user with administration permissions can follow this procedure to specify that CIR warnings, cautions, and applicability are to be resolved prior to being sent to the publishing engine. You can do this so that PDF and
SDL LiveContent S1000D publishing are consistent with each other and additional overhead for resolution is eliminated.
Note:
- PDF publish ignores the value that you can set in this procedure because resolution of warnings, cautions, and applicability is always done prior to sending data to the PDF publishing engine. If only publishing to PDF, this procedure can be ignored.
- By default SDL LiveContent S1000D resolves warnings, cautions, and applicability after the data is sent to SDL LiveContent S1000D publishing engine.
When publishing to both PDF and SDL LiveContent S1000D follow this procedure so that CIR warnings, cautions, and applicability are resolved once, before the data is passed to either publishing engine. If not set, CIR warnings, cautions, and applicability are resolved for PDF output prior to being sent but are again resolved when sent to SDL LiveContent S1000D . Best practice is to have CIR warnings, cautions, and applicability resolved once for both output types so that the overhead of duplicate resolution processes is eliminated.
Note: The procedure refers to the delivered PublishConfiguration.xml. Your publish configuration file(s) may not be named PublishConfiguration.xml. If you have custom publish configuration files, edit those files as described in this procedure.
