Uploading a CSV File to Create S1000D Codes

You can upload S1000D codes into SDL Contenta S1000D using a comma-separated value (CSV) file. After uploading codes, you can use them to create SDL Contenta S1000D objects.

The following sections describe the syntax required for the CSV file.

SDL Contenta S1000D delivers sample CSV files in the Contenta_home/S1000D_samples/data directory:
  • For pre-Issue 4.0 codes only: DMRL-sample.csv
  • For Issue 4.0 or pre-Issue 4.0 codes: DMRL-sample_S1000D_40.csv
  • For Issue 4.1, Issue 4.0, or pre-Issue 4.0 codes: DMRL-sample_S1000D_41.csv
  • For Issue 4.2, Issue 4.1, Issue 4.0, or pre-Issue 4.0 codes: DMRL-sample_S1000D_42.csv

In the example files, the first lines (denoted with #) are comments about the type of data that is to be included while subsequent lines are the examples of the codes that are to be imported.

Use the SDL Contenta S1000D Upload tool to upload the CSV file. The codes are checked for compliance with the S1000D specification standard. If a code does not comply, it is skipped (not uploaded) and an error is written to the Feedback column on screen. The remainder of the CSV file is processed and codes that comply are uploaded.
