Managing your Web site
This section describes the core features of SDL Digital Experience Accelerator that Site Managers can modify.
- SDL Digital Experience Accelerator BluePrint
When you install DXA, a simple linear BluePrint is created consisting of five Publications. You can integrate the Publications in your existing BluePrint and reuse your existing content, or you can create a new separate BluePrint hierarchy. - Configuring the Web application for multilingual Web sites
If you have set up your BluePrint to have a multilingual Web site, you must configure your Web applicationcd_dynamic_conf.xmlconfiguration file to specify the Publications available in each Web site. - Hosting multiple Web sites in one Web application
If you intend to host a large number of low-traffic Web sites that share the same application code (and views), but have their own HTML design and content, you can host all such sites in a single Web application. This approach helps to reduce the total number of resources used by your Web and application server. - User Groups, Rights and Permissions
SDL Digital Experience Accelerator has predefined User Groups Developer, Editor, and Site Manager for managing security (Rights and permissions). It is recommended to add Users to these Groups. - DXA Java configuration
- 51Degrees module
The 51Degrees module provides you with the device detection functionality. - Experience Optimization module
The Experience Optimization module allows you to deliver targeted and personalized content to your website visitors by creating set of rules governing when, where, and for whom your material is displayed. - Google Analytics module
Install this module to add Google Analytics tracking code to all pages of the Example Site. - Media Manager module
SDL Digital Experience Accelerator Media Manager module introduces the support for Media Manager. - Search module
The Search module provides a site search functionality in the form of a search box widget. Once the module is installed and configured, a search box is shown in the header of the page. When you enter a term in the search box, you can see the list of results including PDF format, and Microsoft Office documents which have been published and contain the search term. Currently, the SDL Digital Experience Accelerator does not provide support for Amazon CloudSearch binary indexing. - Integrating with social media
SDL Digital Experience Accelerator is linked to social media by links to your company social media pages in the footer, by links to shared content on social media on certain types of page, and by metadata included in the pages enables social media platforms to understand the content on your site. - Tidying up RTF content
An XSLT filter is applied to Rich Text Fields (format areas) to tidy content pasted into it, for example from Microsoft Word. You can adjust the XSLT filter to act more or less aggressively on pasted content, or you can replace it for the default or your own custom version. - Modifying navigation
The DXA provides a default Web site navigation. - Serving data in another format than HTML
If you want to syndicate your content, offer your site content for consumption by RSS readers, or render content client-side in your browser, you can serve data in several predefined formats or in a format that you implement and register yourself. - Managing headers and footers
The Header and Footer of SDL Digital Experience Accelerator Web sites are managed as separate Pages in the Content Manager in the Home/_system/Include Structure Group: each distinct element in the Header and Footer is modeled as a Component Presentation. - Content Lists
You can create dynamic or static lists of items which have been published in SDL Digital Experience Accelerator. - Contextual view switching
The contextual view switching functionality in SDL Digital Experience Accelerator (DXA) allows you to display your Views in a format proper for the device you are using.
