Configuring Publication Targets for the Example Site

In 2013 SP1, associate one ore more Publication Targets with the Example Site in order to specify where the site can be published. A Publication Target specifies information about a publish action such as the location to publish to and the Web site technology used.

Procedure

  1. Access the Content Manager Explorer Web site.
  2. In the navigation pane, select Administration.
  3. Expand Publishing Management > Publication Targets.
  4. Double-click a Publication Target to which you want to publish the DXA Example Site. This Publication Target must meet the following requirements:
    • Its Target Language,
  5. In the Publication Target dialog, select the General tab and ensure that this Publication Target meets the requirements for the Example Site:
    1. Ensure that Target Language is set to either None or REL (Render Engine Language).
    2. Ensure that Default Code Page is set to Unicode (UTF-8), or to System Default if your Content Manager server machine's code page is Unicode (UTF-8).
    If the Publication Target does not meet these requirements, close it and find another Publication Target that does.
  6. Select the Publication tab.
  7. Under Available Publications, find and select 400 Example Site.
  8. Click Add to move the Publication to Allowed Publications.
  9. Click Save and Close to apply your changes.
  10. Perform the same steps for any other Publication Target(s) to which you want to be able to publish the Example Site.
