Starting Translation Engines

Start your T-servers so that SDL ETS can access their resources during the translation process. When you start a T-server, a Q-server will use it as a translation server for the Language Pair which that T-server serves.

Before you begin

You need to have an ETS administrator user account to access to the following operations.

About this task

T-server(s) on a ETS host need to be stopped when that host is removed from a ETS instance and when the language pair the T-server is serving needs to be uninstalled from that host. T-servers need to be manually started after they have been added to a ETS host. If a T-server is in the invalid state, restart it by stopping then starting it again.

Procedure

  1. Launch the Web GUI.
  2. Log in using an ETS administrator account.
  3. Navigate to Manage > Hosts.
  4. Under the T-Servers column, identify the T-server you want to start and select the Start button.

Results

The server status icon will change to reflect its current state.

Running status: indicates the server has successfully started.

Stopped status: indicates the server has successfully stopped.

Invalid status: indicates that server needs to be stopped and started, or removed and re-added.
