SDL ETS installation and deployment scenarios
You can install SDL ETS over a single server (a Master host) or over multiple servers (a Master host and one or more Worker hosts). Choosing one of the two installation modes depends on your translation volume.
SDL ETS consists of the ETS application and the ETS Language Pairs.
Single-server deployment
A single-server deployment implies that you install the ETS application and the SDL ETS Language Pairs on one server or machine called the Master host. This usually means that you have low translation volumes or that you do not require a very fast translation speed.
Multi-server deployment
A multi-server deployment implies that you install the ETS application on one Master host or machine, while you install the ETS Language Pairs on several Worker hosts. Each Worker host can process several language pairs. This deployment is used if you have high translation volumes or if you require a very fast translation speed.
