Configuring caching
Each aspect of caching (table of content, publication list, pre-caching, ...) can be configured.
- Enabling, Disabling, and Clearing Caching
During development, you may find it more efficient to disable document-level caching. After you have completed active development, enable caching. - Caching topics and table of content
A request to the Table of Content (TOC) in the database is made each time you select a topic in the table. This query may take some time, and the repetition of it slows down the global performance. A cache storing topics and the table of content has been created in order to reduce the impact of table of content navigation on the performance due to those database calls. - Recommendations for topic and table of content cache settings
A few rules of thumb insure an optimal performance through appropriate caching. - Caching the list of publications
Each time Content Delivery main page is loaded, the list of publications needs to be retrieved, and that may impact performance. This is why this list is cached. - Pre-caching
Pre-caching is the action of automatically caching information, before any user access to that information.
