Adding a map to a publication
The publication has an XML map. The map references all content for the publication. The map can reference other sub-maps.
Procedure
- In the Publication Manager, open a publication:
- Click Publication > Open...
The tree view of the repository is displayed.
- Locate the folder in the repository that contains your publications and click on it.
- In the right pane of the window, select the publication you want to open.
- Click the Open button.
- Click Publication > Open...
- Right-click on a new or empty publication then from the shortcut menu, select Add > Map.
The tree view of the repository is displayed.Note: You cannot have more than one map in the publication. However, you can have a map that references other maps in the publication.
- In the tree view of the repository, locate and select the map you want to use
- Click Add.
If the publication had an existing map, it prompts if you want to replace it.In the Content tab, the map appears under the publication name.
- By default the latest version of the map is selected. If needed, you can click on the map and select a version from the top right pane to use in the publication.
The contents of the map appear in the publication tree. If a referenced item is displayed with a red circle icon, it indicates that a version for the item has not been selected.Note: You can check out the map you just added by right-clicking on it then selecting Check Out. When it is checked out, you can add, remove, or move topics and sub-map references.
