Authoring content using web client
You can access Content Editor from the Content Manager web client. Content Editor is a WYSIWYG XML editor, that runs in your browser as a friendly interface to XML that adheres to the XML schema.
Follow these procedures from the Content Manager web client to access the default web authoring tool, Content Editor.
Editing objects from the repository; opens the latest version in the default language:
- Click on the Repository tab.
- Select the folder in the repository that contains the object that you want to check out.
- Select the object in the upper right pane.
- Click the Check Out icon on the top menu bar. This opens the topic in the default web authoring tool.
Editing objects by language and version from the repository:
- Click on the Repository tab.
- Select the folder in the repository that contains the object that you want to check out.
- Select the object in the upper right pane.
- Select the version and language of the object you want to check out in the lower right pane.
- Click Check Out in the right pane. This opens the topic in the default web authoring tool.
Editing objects in your inbox:
- Click on the Inbox tab.
- Click the inbox you want to check for assignments, for example, click Author.
- Click the checkbox next to the object in the right pane.
- Click the Check Out icon on the toolbar. This opens the topic in the default web authoring tool.
