Breadcrumb trail
The breadcrumb trail is an interactive trail that displays the structure of the document leading to the element which currently has the focus or cursor.
It's a tool to help you to:
- select the element you want to work with
- find out the editing options for that element
- edit the element or make other changes at that location
As you move the cursor over the elements in this interactive trail, a selection box appears in the main editing pane. This selection box outlines the content contained by the element, which changes as you move along the trail.
Context menu
Clicking on an element in the breadcrumb trail brings up a two-part Context menu.
In the top part of this menu is the Insert menu for the current element.
In the bottom part you have four standard options:
- The Cut and Copy options will cut and copy the element, not the selection.
- Paste will paste whatever was copied before specifically into this element.
- Delete will also only delete this element. The option can be grayed out when the element cannot be deleted.
Example: Using the breacrumb trail to insert an image
In this example, the breadcrumb trail leads to the Paragraph. From the selection box, you can see that the specific paragraph selected is the one that begins with the words "For an example..." . Right now, the user is about to Insert Image to this paragraph.
