Changing user group properties

You can change the name or description, or you can deactivate or reactivate a user group from the Content Manager web client application.

Procedure

  1. Login to the Web Client as an administrator user.
  2. Select Settings > User groups.
  3. Select a user group then click Properties.
  4. Change the name and/or description of the user group.
  5. To deactivate a user group, click to uncheck the Active box. To activate, click to check the Active box.
    When a user group is created by default , it is active. Active specifies that the user group is visible in the user group lists in the properties screen.

    Deactivating a user group has no effect on users already in the user group however, it prevents you from adding the group to new or existing users from this point forward.

  6. Click OK.

Results

The user group is updated in the repository. If deactivated, it is no longer visible in the group lists therefore cannot be selected, however, if previously used, it remains a valid value.
