Copying from other publications

You can copy objects from one publication and paste them into another in the Publication Manager.

Procedure

  1. In the Publication Manager, open a publication:
    1. Click Publication > Open...
      The tree view of the repository is displayed.
    2. Locate the folder in the repository that contains your publications and click on it.
    3. In the right pane of the window, select the publication you want to open.
    4. Click the Open button.
  2. In the publication tree, right-click the item to copy then click Copy.
    This can be an entire part, an entire chapter, or a link to another object.
  3. Open the second publication; the publication to which you want to add the copied item.
  4. Check out the map into which you want to paste the copied item.
  5. In the publication tree, right-click the desired location in the map.
  6. On the Edit menu, click Paste Special...
  7. Select one of the following options:

    Structure and baseline informationInserts the structure of the copied item together with the version information included in the original baseline.
    Baseline information onlyInserts the version information from the original baseline.
    Structure onlyInserts only the structure of the copied item.
