Creating an account and connecting to the repository

You must create the user account and configure the connection to the repository to allow a user to connect and access data in the Content Manager repository.

Before you begin

Use this procedure to create a new user account for testing purposes. You need the following information to create the account and connect to the repository:
  • Name of the Content Manager application server
  • URL of the Content Manager web services.

    For example: http://example.com/ISHWS/

  • URL of the Content Manager web client.

Procedure

  1. Perform one of the following actions:
    ApplicationAction
    Publication ManagerClick Tools > Accounts.
    XML authoring toolClick SDL Knowledge Center > Accounts.
    The repository window is displayed.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter an Account Name and the URL of the Content Manager Web Service.
  4. Click Next.
  5. If necessary, select the Authentication Method.
  6. Enter the username and password.
    Check Remember password if you do not want to enter the information each time you use the application.
  7. Click Next.
    Content Manager validates the account and synchronizes files.
