Edit the reviewed content for corrections
As a reviewer, you check specific content in order to improve it. At some point you may want to make corrections or additions to the content you are reviewing. SDL Knowledge Center helps you do that and updates the content in order to let the other users see your modifications.
Before you begin
This task requires that you have Content Delivery installed.
Configure your browser to allow pop-ups, so you can see system messages.
When you are viewing content in Content Delivery, the edit button in the toolbar at the top of the viewing pane has to be active:
If the button is greyed out, the content is not available for changes and the reason for this will be displayed in a tool help (usually the content has the status "Released" or you are outside the revision period defined by the author):
Procedure
- Click the Edit button. This will automatically check out the content, which means that the content will be locked so that other users won't be able to modify it while you are editing.
- Make the changes.
- Do one of the following:
Click this icon ... To perform this ... Save the edits that you have made and continue to make more edits. Check in the topic or map with the edits that you have made. The editor closes, returning you to the resource. The topic or map is checked in, creating a new revision in the repository.
Cancel the check out. Any edits that you made to the topic or map since the previous Save are discarded.
