Editing publications
You can edit the publication object in Publication Manager or in your authoring tool.
- Opening a publication
You can open a publication to modify it, view its structure, to access and view or edit its contents, or to publish it. - Changing the properties of a publication
You can change the title, publication type, description, requested languages, baseline, or add comments to an existing publication. You can change properties in two ways. - Adding a map to a publication
The publication has an XML map. The map references all content for the publication. The map can reference other sub-maps. - Checking out a map within Publication Manager
You can check out a publication’s map and edit its structure in the Publication Manager interface. - Checking in a map
After editing a map in Publication Manager, you can check in the map to save the changes in the repository. - Adding objects to the map within Publication Manager
The map contains references to topics or other maps. The structure of the references (hierarchy) determines the structure of the publication. You can add objects to the map from the Publication Manager. This is an alternative way from editing in your authoring tool. - Arranging objects in the map within Publication Manager
You can arrange the topicrefs in the map from the Publication Manager. This is an alternative way from editing in your authoring tool. - Modifying attributes of a <topicref> element
From Publication Manager, you can modify the attributes on a <topicref> element or a specialization of a <topicref> element. In the default Content Manager configuration, you can modify attributes that control addressing, key definition, condition, format, and linking, and can specify the contents of a <navtitle> element. - Removing objects from the map within the Publication Manager
You can remove objects from the map from the Publication Manager. This is an alternative way from editing in your authoring tool. - Copying from other publications
You can copy objects from one publication and paste them into another in the Publication Manager.
