Functional differences between the web client and client tool
A description of the differences between the Publication Manager (client tool) and the web client.
General
Most SDL Knowledge Center content management functions are available in both the web client and the Publication Manager. Some functions are only available in one of the two. Sometimes this has a historical reason but most times it is because the intended use of these tools.
Intended use
Web client:
- Manage translations
- Administrator actions and troubleshooting
- Easy look-up
Publication manager:
- Daily use
- Management of publications
- Connected to XMetaL
