Generating output

You can generate output at any time from the Publication Manager. Since publishing is done on the server, it does not hinder you from continuing to work on your system.

Procedure

  1. With the publication opened in the Publication Manager, click the Output tab.
  2. Click on the desired output to select it.
If there are no options available, you must add an output format first.
  3. Click Publish.
The publish process begins. Publishing takes some time depending on the size of your publication.

Results

When publishing is finished, the status is either:
  • Draft: This status indicates that there may be a problem with the publication such as, not all objects are available or released, broken hyperlinks may have been encountered, some variables may not have a value defined, and so on.
  • Release Candidate: This status only occurs if all objects in the publication are released. This status indicates that all objects were released, no problems were encountered, and that the publication output can be released.
