Managing translations
Translation managers can calculate inherited, requested and published languages, generate required languages, mark deprecated versions out-of-date, trigger In-context Perfect Matching, export files for translation, import translated files, and publish.
- Translation Management
The Content Manager translation management functionality includes features such as automatic generation of objects for translation, pre-translation of the content of the object, and automatic routing in a given workflow. - In-context Perfect Matching
If Content Manager is configured for In-context Perfect Matching, the system tries to reduce the translation work as much as possible by pre-translating data that had been previously translated and did not change. - Generating a translation report
When managing translations, you often need to know how many objects have to be translated, what the word count of the objects is (individually and in total) and how many words remain to be translated after the in-context perfect matching. - Pushing Objects into Translation
Objects may be typically pushed to translation at certain milestones in your process. You can push object that are released in the source language for translation at any time. - Exporting Files for Translation
To send files outside the Content Manager environment for translation, you first export the files to a ZIP file. - Importing translated objects
When you receive translated files from your translator, you must upload them into the Content Manager repository to ensure that it contains all updated and necessary language translations for your publications. - Release Translations for a project
When a translated topic is returned from the translator and ready to be published, you release the topic to ensure that it can no longer be modified and to make it available for pre-translation when it is needed in the future. - Submitting status transitions
To change the status of several objects at one time, you can use the translation or workflow report. For example, you can change all objects that were translated and returned to you, from In translation to Translated. - Managing translations using the Translation Job option
When using the Content Manager Translation Job for translation management, you can create a new job or add to an existing job.
