Ribbon Toolbar

The ribbon toolbar provides access to features and information about both the structure and content in the XML topics. It is located above the editor and consists of three tabs: Home, Insert, and Table.

Home Tab

In the Home tab, you can access basic features for working with and editing your topic such as Save, Undo, and Copy/Paste.

You can use this tab to change element structure using the Move Up, Move Down, and Delete buttons.

You can change the document views and the interface language from this tab.

Insert Tab

On the Insert tab, you can insert elements that are available depending on the current context in the DITA structure as specified by the location of the cursor in the text. For example, you can insert the DITA elements for tables, images, reuse content, and other technical content.

Other elements are organized into groups within folders such as Topic Structure or Objects. The elements that are available vary depending on the context, so if you cannot find a particular element or structure it might be because it is not supported in the current DITA context.

Table Tab

The Table tab displays only if there is at least one table element in the topic you are editing and your focus is in a table element. This tab provides buttons to change a table in different ways such as moving, inserting, or deleting rows or columns. You can also Merge a pair of rows or columns or undo a Merge action using the Split icon.

Table of Contents Tab

The Table of Contents tab displays only when you are editing a map. Thus you need to check out a map for editing from either the Content Editor or Content Delivery in order to edit maps and see this tab. This tab provides you with buttons to

  • insert an existing page (topic references)
  • move and delete topic metadata, navtitles, topic references
  • move and delete existing (nested or sub-) maps

With this initial version of this feature, you cannot insert an existing or new map (map reference)
