Running the Content Delivery bundled installer for Windows

Run the bundled installer for Windows if you are installing or upgrading on a Microsoft Windows system, and you have no Web application server set up.

Procedure

  1. Log on to your target machine as an administrator-level user.
  2. From your target machine, access your Content Delivery download location for SDL Knowledge Center 2016 SP3.
  3. Download and run the executable called yyyymmdd.SDLKnowledgeCenter.xx.x.xxxx.x.ContentDelivery.BundledInstall.exe.
  4. Right-click the executable and select Properties.
  5. In the Compatibility tab, tick the checkbox Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select Windows 7 from the list. Confirm with OK.
  6. Right-click the executable and select Run as administrator.
  7. In the Content Delivery (Install) step, select Next.
  8. In the License Agreement step, read the license terms, confirm that you agree with them by selecting I accept the terms of the License Agreement, and select Next.
  9. In the Choose Install Folder step, change the displayed default path proposed in the step only if you have a critical reason to do so, then select Next.
  10. In the Choose Port Number step, enter the port you want Content Delivery to use and select Next.
  11. In the Choose Backup Schedule step, specify how often you would like SDL Knowledge Center to back up the Content Delivery database and select Next.
  12. In the Install License step, do one of the following:

  14. In the Installation Successful - Content Delivery step, write down the URL for Content Delivery so you can use it later, and select Next.
  15. In the Install Complete step, select Done to close the installer and save an installation log to the logs\ subfolder of your SDL Knowledge Center home folder.
