Sending the language objects for translation

The procedure for sending the language objects for translation depends on whether you have in-house translators who have access to your Content Manager system, or an outside translation agency to which you must send the languages files.

Before you begin

For sending translation objects to outside translator:
  • You must have full access to the application server.

About this task

This procedure can be used to create a package of files to be sent to an outside translator or agency for translation. If you have in-house translators who have access to your Content Manager system, you can skip this procedure and forward the language objects to their inbox using the Content Manager workflow.

Procedure

  1. In Content Manager web client, select the Repository tab and navigate to the folder containing the publication with the objects to be translated.
  2. Select the publication in the upper pane of the window.
  3. Select the version and output type in the lower pane of the window.
  4. Click Translation in the toolbar in the lower pane.
A translation management window is displayed.
  5. Select Create the translation statistics for the following language and select a language.
  6. Click OK.
  7. In the resulting report window, click To be translated.
All language topics that need to be translated are automatically selected in the lower pane. If necessary, you can clear selections in this pane so they are not included in the package for translation.
  8. Click Export.
  9. This creates a zip file on the server that contains all language object files that were exported. You can find the zip file to send to your translator under: Trisoft_install_dir\Data_dir\ExportService|Data\Data\DataExports
