Validating Content Manager Publishing

Perform these tests to ensure that the output format you created in Content Manager is configured properly.

Before you begin

Before testing the Content Manager publishing to Content Delivery, you must configure an output format and output format instance.

Procedure

  1. Log on to Content Manager.
  2. Click the slide-out navigation pane, and then click Content Manager.
    Publication Manager appears.
  3. On the Output tab, click Publish.
    After publishing, Content Manager changes the status to Draft.
  4. On the Output tab, select the Content Delivery output format instance you just published.
  5. Click Download.
  6. Save the ZIP file to your computer and expand the contents to a folder.
    The contents of the ZIP file are an index.html file that contains a link to the Content Delivery server, and a source folder that contains the data files as they were exported from Content Manager and before they were imported into Content Delivery.
  7. Open the index.html file in a browser to reach Content Delivery.
  8. In the Publication List, click the name of the document you just published to view it.
  9. In the Content Manager web client, on the Event tab, click Publication export and download the ZIP file.
  10. Unzip the file, and launch index.html.
    This launches the published document.
  11. View the event log and look for warnings and errors.
